Bambang stars in Selangor Cup win
SHAH ALAM: Indonesian hotshot Bambang Pamungkas starred for Selangor when he scored a brace in the Red Giants’ 2-0 win over Persib Banding of Indonesia to lift the inaugural Selangor Cup in a closely contested match at the Shah Alam Stadium last night.
Bambang struck with two quick kills in the 57th and 61st minutes.
The invitational game drew a bumper turnout of 40,000 fans, most of whom had come to see Indonesians Bambang and Elie Aiboy donning Selangor colours again.
The duo are best remembered for helping the Red Giants bag a treble in 2005.
