Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger claimed Nicklas Bendtner was "set up" after photographs showed the striker leaving a London nightclub with his pants falling down only hours after the team's exit from the Champions League semi-finals.
Wenger said someone else pulled the Denmark international's pants down to make it appear as if he was drunk early Wednesday, with a photographer deliberately situated nearby to take the shot.
"I was angry -- but he has been set up," Wenger said. "People make the story that he was drunk. He was not drunk. He did not put his trousers down, somebody did it for him and somebody was posted there with a camera."
