KELANTAN fans were on their best behaviour despite the occasional fireworks and they went home happy after watching their team draw 1-1 with Selangor in a Malaysian Super League match at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil last night,The draw was a good start for Kelantan in their first home match at a neutral ground as it will certainly lift their spirits after the ugly incidents in Kota Baru on Tuesday.
Playing in front of about 15,000 spectators, D. Surendren blew Selangor's best chance when he beat the offside trap but only to shoot wide in the 15th minute.Four minutes later, Hardi Jaafar's long range attempt was saved by Kelantan goalkeeper Shahrizan Ismail who was standing in for the disgraced Halim Napi.Just as it seemed the teams were heading into the interval all level, Kelantan scored through Indra Putra Mahayuddin two minutes into injury time.
Zamri Ramli released Nor Farhan Mohd down the right flank before his cross was met by Indra's spectacular scissors kick.Kelantan almost added their second goal in the 56th minute but Nor Farhan dragged his shot wide from close range.But Selangor were not to be denied when Safee Sali turned to unleash a strike from the edge of the penalty box, which went in off the underside of the bar in the 79th minute.
